Toy Soldiers | Alta Media Productions

Posted by AJANAKU On August - 28 - 2009

You have seen the miniature tilt & shift lens effect used on the IAM1 Journey, by Nalden. The production company Alta Media in Paris Having been using this effect for a while now with various films they have made. The video above was taken during Bastille Day in Paris. The soldiers really feel like those green army men I used to play with when I was young… I never stop loving videos that use this affect, I wonder how long it will take for a video artist to use this affect? Or has it already happened yet?

Yesterday I passed by Masculine, on the Korte Molenstraat, The Hague, to catch up with Jochy. His store is a heaven for any true man who love his accesories, from watches to bags, from scarfs to hats, and much more. I have always said that when I cut my hair, I would wear hats. The day came yesterday, and I got myself a Goorin Bros.  The hats are a big hit in the  USA now, and are slowly making ground here in Europe. Hmmmm. I feel a Hat collection Beginning!!

Xandra van Wijk | Stills Caught in Japan

I sometimes have the luck to come across great work, but realize my luck is even bigger when I find out the work is from someone who felt inspirated to pick up the camera and just shoot what she loved, her friends. Xandra van Wijk is one of these people who have the natural talent for capturing the greta moments between true friends. I felt sucked into the picture, feeling as if i was part of the friendships shown to me. I was very surprised when I found out she had just started taking pictures more seriously when she went to Japan for a year as an exchange student. She is studying Industrial Design, but I really think she has a natural, inspirational, and exceptional talent for photography, and I really hope she never lets go of it!!! I want a few of these prints on my wall. Make sure to see all the Pictures below in the gallery, follow her on twitter, and read  her story in her own words below:

adidas_rod_laver_limiteditions_1

This weekend I headed over to London and passed by the Adidas Consortium store off Carnaby Street, and was happy to get my hands on the reworked Rob Laver LimitEDitions. First launched in the 1970s as the signature shoe of then world tennis champion, George “Rod” Laver, the Rod Laver was a shoe where simplicity had the upper hand over branding. Now in 2009, the Rob Lavers have been re-released for the Adidas Originals Consortium Project. With the Consortium Project, adidas worked with 9 different global consortium to make over the Rod Laver to create very limited editions of the shoe.
