Yeasayer : One

Posted by Karim Cherif On March - 15 - 2010

It’s #MusicMonday on Twitter. So let’s talk music. If you still don’t know that you have to be in Brooklyn to see what’s hot in New York, then you need to go back as soon as possible, before the yuppies and bourgeoisie move in and turn it to a commercial and expensive neighborhood. There is big music scene in Brooklyn as well, to name just a few: St. Vincent, Sufjan Stevens, CocoRosie, Hercules and Love Affair, Animal Collective, MGMT, Dirty Projectors, the latest hype Vampire Weekend and now we can add Yeasayer to that list (and I recommend you checking out all of these bands if you still don’t know who they are).

Green Works | Reverse Graffiti Project

Posted by Xandra On March - 14 - 2010

The Reverse Graffiti Project powered by Greenworks is a brilliant statement on pollution of our environment. Instead of spraying images on the walls, the artist removes the dirt in order to create an environmental friendly piece of art.

“Seeing how dirty a wall is by cleaning it in this way, it kind of gets people immediatly. They go up and look at it, thinking it’s spraypaint or something. And then it’s just a cold realisation that the world is really dirty.”

Kid Cudi ft. MGMT

Posted by Oscar Asmoarp On March - 9 - 2010

I stumbled over this new video from Kid Cudi ft. MGMT. This is the alternative video for the “Pursuit Of Happiness” that came off “Man on the Moon: The End of Day“. The video looks really cool and there were at least four times that I was like “how did they do that?!”.  And the song isn’t to bad either.

Tron Legacy

Posted by Karim Cherif On March - 9 - 2010

When I was young, games like “Space Quest” and “Police Quest” were the bomb – on an amber colored monochrome screen that is. Yes, that’s how old yours truly is. I remember going to the cinema with my uncle to the first Tron movie. And I thought that I was hallucinating. I was mesmerized. I was excited. I wet my pants.

The Power of Internet in Health Care

Posted by Miss Holland On March - 5 - 2010

The power of internet is catching on, even in the health care sector.
Towards the end of last year Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland Oregon USA danced for breast cancer awareness. All staff including medical, kitchen and cleaning put on their pink gloves and showed their best moves in the hope that 1 million people would watch them boogie. If they reached 1 million viewers the pink glove manufacturer promised to donate a portion of their profits to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. And 1 million viewers was easily reached as they are now over 7 million.

Posted by Bobby Pola On March - 5 - 2010
70 Million is a song by Hold Your Horses, a French-American band, that has been made into a video by L’Ogre Productions in which members of the band (and presumably a few friends) pose in hilarious mock-ups of 25 or 30 famous paintings from the history of Western Art.
