On a previous post about citizenM, we showed a video explaining the whole concept. I now had the opportunity to visit and stay at citizenM.
CitizenM aims to provide a new type of experience and luxury for its guest, the citizen mobile guest. These guests expect the best quality for a great value. This has been achieved at citizenM.
When approaching the building, one can see how the building has been built from many modules. This is an efficient building system where the rooms are all built in a offsite factory which helps maintain high quality expected from its guest.
The eye to detail and design is evident from the moment you walk into the lobby to the self check-in kiosk. When checking in you have a choice of lighting, music, temperature, and mood you want the room to be in when you enter. If it gets a bit to complicated, there is always a friendly face ready to help. After checking in and getting your personal card, one starts noticing all the classic and modern Vitra pieces laid out around the lobby. The lobby caters to all guests, having space to relax as well as space to work.
In the lobby is also the self-service canteen. This canteen has great food at great value, as well as the possibility to have a cocktail.
After taking the elevator to the appropriate floor, the guest enters his 14-square-meter room, which has been designed by Concrete of Amsterdam, to see a modern, welcoming design. Straight away your eye is carried through the room to all the great features. The wall-to-wall bed is very inviting, with the LCD TV is mounted above it, with free movies and wifi. Underneath the bed is space for luggage and clothes. Also in the room is a great power rain shower with handheld shower. Here you will also find luxury bespoke amenities, specially developed for citizenM by a famous ‘nose’.
The best bit of the room is the electronic mood pad, where from everything is controlled, lighting, temperature, TV, and music. One can also choose pre-set moods as well as a specially designed mood-enhanced wake-up call.
In all citizenM is not just a hotel, it is an EXPERIENCE. There is more to citizenM then words can describe, so I think the best thing for people to do is go experience it for yourself. This is possible, because when I said affordable luxury, I meant it. The rooms start from 69 euros, and during credit crisis the rooms are 69 euro per night for Friday, Saturday and Sunday until credit crisis ends. “CitizenM says: credit crisis? stop saving in banks, start saving with citizenM!”
I loved it, and I know you will too!!!!!! It has it all, design, architecture, art, thought, and experience all in one. They are planning to build more Hotels throughout Europe, so keep your eyes open.
